Summertime and the living is easy! The Old Kentucky theme reverberates through the wind high on the hills at Baldwin Farms. When you see the activity of planting the gardens, baling the hay, harvesting the produce and cutting the summer blooms of the fresh flowers grown for market, you feel a connection to the land. But it is also hard work. We offer a variety of products from our labors.
From time-to-time, we have a special treat. This year we have some rabbits for sale at $10@. They make good pets. So stop by the rabbit cage and take one home when you come to visit. You'll also enjoy seeing the chickens, ducks and goats when you come.
If you can't make it out to the farm, stop by our Farmer's Market booth.Closed for the Season

Hi Folks!
After a rainy start this spring and early summer months, between raindrops, we planted summer produce, harvested the hay and began our summer preparations.. The new farming techniques we put into place last summer were a big help. Mulching with plastic is a water-saving tactic which helps the plants during times of drought. It makes us less dependent on the rain and greatly reduces herbicide use. But we sure are glad when we do get the rain. Last year we implemented the use of Bio Mass (Soy Soap) which is absorbed through the leaves and improves production. Of course, our bees were busy pollinating everywhere.
We finished our on-site farmer’s market. We call it “Kelly House” in memory of our precious cat, who died this year. She was a mainstay at the farm and one of our favorite pets. So when you visit “Kelly House” for your summer produce, think of her. Her picture is above the door.
Kelly House is just the right size to display our produce in the cooling comfort of a big fan spinning overhead. It provides a cozy check-out area which we think you’ll find convenient. The nice shelving displays our jams, honey and other products. The refrigerators in Kelly House hold some produce and apple cider. Our customers were delighted with Kelly House. This fall, it will be put to good use for the end of summer produce, as long as it lasts. We’ll add the fall produce as it comes in season. So you’ll always find something interesting at Kelly House.
Many of you reported that when you visited us, you did, indeed, feel free to take the time to breathe the fresh air and enjoy the sounds of summer. The birds…the bees…the animals…the Raptor Perches in the fields. These high perches are for owls, hawks, etc.) so they can rest high up from the produce and trees. From way up there, they can watch for their food...bugs...mice...etc...without resting on the branches of the trees and bushes, breaking them off. It gives the plants a better chance to grow strong and beautiful while allowing the birds the freedom to hunt naturally. It's one more way to conserve natural resources naturally. Our beautiful bouquets of summer flowers brightened many of your tables and porches this summer. What a wonderful way to celebrate summer with your family!
Many of you stopped to see us at the Farmer’s Market in the Lowe’s Parking Lot on Saturday mornings. We certainly appreciated your patronage.
Hope to see you soon at the Pumpkins and More Festival!
