It's Fall Harvest Time! The Harvest Festival dates are September 23 through October 31.   Join in the fun! The Hay Maze, Mt. Baldwin Dirt Hill, Games, Pumpkin Paths, Red Wagons  and Corn Hole  are joined this year by a huge Bouncy Castle and Pony Rides.  The pet goats, rabbits, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats are joined this year by a horse, cow and llama.  Fun for Kids Young and Old.....

Enjoy the new Corn Maze adventure for $2.00 per person.   We do ask, however,  that parents supervise their children and make sure the Corn Maze is not trampled unnecessarily.  Our other guests will appreciate your efforts.

Bring the family for a country outing. At many requests, we have arranged reduced sitting fees with our photographer. He will be available by appointment on weekends to help you record the glorious highlights of your family day at a family-friendly price. You can schedule an appointment by calling 859-623-6898.  Check the website for availability. Don’t miss this opportunity to have professional photos done. You’ll be able to view your proofs online in about two weeks and choose what you want to purchase at very reasonable prices. He will make a digital download available to you if you just wish to buy a CD and print your pictures at your leisure. You may be interested in Christmas gifts like a photo album, canvas prints, mugs, calendars, or Christmas cards. Your options are unlimited.

Shop for  the season’s freshest local produce and fall decorations. It's a delightful change from the local supermarket the kids won't soon forget.  Stock up on pantry items and don’t forget the extraordinary Baldwin Farms Salsa and Apple Butter. It is fabulous!   We’ll also feature Penn’s County Ham this fall, a favorite of Kentucky Chefs.  The shopping lists below are published for your convenience but are subject to change due to market conditions. KY adds 6% sales tax.

Greetings:
Pumpkin Festival 201l ended on a high note this year.  We were slowed by the rain the week before the Festival. But the glorious harvest, our faithful customers, newcomers, and bountiful produce, all brought about another exciting time at Baldwin Farms this beautiful fall season.

Kelly House, our new market building, dedicated to our deceased farm cat, was extremely handy.  It housed our apple cider, Penn’s ham, Amish Jams, Baldwin Farms honey salsa, late summer and fall produce, gift items and more.  As usual, everyone enjoyed our fun features from pulling the little wagons to find favorite pumpkins, climbing on Mt. Baldwin Dirt Hill, running the Hay Maze to playing Corn Hole. This year, we featured a huge Bouncy Castle but the breeze was a little high on the hilltop some days to keep it open all the time.  But the pony rides were a huge success.  A few lucky days, a face painter entertained the children with popular designs.  We had all  the fun games and animals you have come to expect.

Family time…picnicking in the shelter….strolling hand-in-hand through the patches…reflecting on the serenity  of the day…choosing fall decorations….are just a few key reasons people visit us.  The  brisk autumn air from the hilltop refreshes the spirit.

Did you sign your name to our framed poster  “Pumpkin Pickers of 2011” when you came to the festival?  Did you take time to meet our animals?  They loved the attention.  In case you missed their names, there is Coffee, the llama and Buttercup, the Jersey milk cow, along with her baby, Daisy. Then  we  have  the three goats, Sam, Nellie Bell and Baby April. Don’t forget Pork and Chop, the pigs and Peter and Peggy, the rabbits.   Our Golden Comet Chickens meandered around the coop and the ducks wandered around  looking for breadcrumbs and trouble.

Our new website continues  to bring us many new friends. We encourage you to make a habit of stopping by our website frequently to see what is new with us. It has been amazing how much it helps us communicate with our friends.   When we have something new to tell you at the last minute, we can zip out a news alert to you. Signing up for our newsletter lets you be first to know of last minute attractions or specials.  Encourage your friends to sign up for the newsletter.

Thanks for the great ideas you pass along to us.  Each year, we add something  new  so your visit seems fresh and exciting so we try to implement as many of your suggestions as we can.    By popular demand, we are in the processing of preparing a Baldwin Farms Cookbook. Stay tuned for more news of that in the future.

The cedar swings were a popular  backdrop for our photographer.  Were you one of the lucky schedulers of  a family photo shoot?  If not, don’t forget to schedule your sitting with our  web photographer early next season.  It’s your chance to have professional photographs at family-friendly prices. We know how expensive it usually is to have a professional sitting.   I’ve arranged a reduced fee for Baldwin Farm Customers.   You’ll be able to order  prints, albums, gifts or other items when you want them, also at a very friendly rate. Or, you can order a CD that contains all your pictures for one low price.

We’ll take a quick break and then get ready for the Christmas Tree Season.  See you then!
