Well, folks,
It’s that time of year again when sleigh bells ring and children sing.    We’re so excited to share another Christmas of homegrown memories and fresh Christmas trees and greenery with you.  The children will enjoy meeting Coffee, the Llama and Buttercup, the Milk Cow, with her Calf, Daisy.  Check out the post cards in Kelly House.  You may want to send your friends a greeting card chosen from  the beautiful scenes of the farm.

You can’t beat the quality of the Christmas trees grown right here in Madison County.   Our sixteen acres of trees in varying stages of readiness give you a wide variety from which to choose.   So hurry in early for the best selection!  When  you arrive, we’ll give you a map so  you know where to look for a perfect tree. We provide good sharp bow-saws and plastic mats to keep you dry as  you cut.
For those who prefer trees with root balls to plant  after Christmas, we have a good selection already dug or you can  tag a tree of your choice for a later pick-up.   Also, we can  dig root-balled trees normally from October through March, unless the ground is too frozen to dig and plant. If you   want a root-balled tree to plant  during those months, give us a call.

The "elves" at Baldwin Farms trim the trees so every tree has the perfect tree shape. We can almost hear the trees calling, "Pick me, pick me!" as we pass by. The Fraser Fir trees we bring in from North Carolina are, as always, beautiful. The firs are always a favorite, but simply will not grow in the heat of our Kentucky Bluegrass region.

Giddy Up…Giddy Up…Giddy Up…Let’s Go….Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho…   I love the songs of Christmas as we hang the evergreen garland, wreaths, mistletoe kissing balls, mailbox covers and swags.  They  smell so fresh…the perfect finishing touch to the holiday season with their delightful fragrances. They also make great gifts.

Yuletide carols and baskets of good cheer won’t be complete without  our own Baldwin Farms Salsa, Amish Jams, Apple Butter, Local Honey, Sorghum, Fresh Tomato BBQ Sauce and  Penn’s Ham.   Food items are always some of the most appreciated Christmas gift items one receives during the holidays.   Have you  thought about some of our other  unusual gift ideas?  Step out of the cold  into Kelly House next to the tree shed and shop around.

You’re always welcome  to warm up around our cozy fire and enjoy free hot chocolate and candy canes after purchasing your tree.   We’ll also have yummy hot cider ($1.00/cup) this year.   If you were here last year, chances are we have your photo in one of our albums. We hope you feel free to take it with you, as so many of you have done in the past. We loved topping everyone's head with a Santa hat or antlers and taking photos of your family.

There are so many memories to be made here at the farm year after year in celebration of the birth of Christ.   Silent Night…Holy Night….Take a quiet moment  at  our gazebo where a star and scripture hang above a manger to reflect on  the ‘reason for the season.’   We hope your visit to Baldwin Farms  this year is the perfect beginning of a traditional  and spiritual Christmas for you and yours. May your life be filled with joy and peace as you celebrate Christmas.  We hope to share it with you year after year.

We want to remind you to be patient with the Baldwin Farm road whenever you come to visit. We add a lot of gravel each fall and we have a number of passing sections, but it is still a "farm road." It's a little bumpy and crowded at times. There are several places to pull off for passing other vehicles.  We will post a notice on the website if we realize the road is too difficult to access due to bad weather.  You may call ahead  to check on the conditions before you come to avoid any delays. We implemented a parking system which helps us  stay organized and prevents a lot of "wandering around." Please remember to follow the signs for easy parking that begins at the shed where you see the "START HERE" sign.

Merry Christmas to Everyone!
Margery

P.S. Landscape trees, evergreens and hardwoods are available October through March. Call for appointment or information. Our trees have been inspected by the University of Kentucky. They are free of dangerous insects and diseases.

We put out signs along the road to guide visitors. Now when visitors ask for directions to Baldwin Farms, the local residents just point up the road and say "Follow the Signs." It's another Baldwin Farm tradition. You're almost there when you pass the Turkey Crossing, the Owl House and the Deer Crossing. Driving Directions
